Referred to as Pantai Balangan by the locals, Balangan Beach is nestled on the South of Bali on the Bukit Peninsula.

This half kilometer stretch of golden sand is a corner of paradise for surfers, photographers, sunbathers. If you are looking for a laid-back day at the beach, picture this.

You are heading to the ocean with your favorite board under the arm, wetsuit on, board waxed, leash attached to your ankle. Tick. You’re now ready to challenge world-class reef break left handers. It’s time for a short paddle out in crystal clear waters. Reach the line up and score the best waves of your life! Consistent, surfable all year round, this beach is unsurprisingly the surfers’ Graal, from intermediate to advanced and therefore attracts surfers from all around the world.

I can feel what is going to be your next question: what about my non-surfer brother? sister? wife? friend?

There is nothing to worry about, there is some for everyone. Here are several activities your relatives are going to enjoy as much as you enjoy the thrill of surfing great waves. These are our first thoughts: what about enjoying some delicious home-cooked Indonesian food from one of the local warungs, accompanied with a cold Bintang, under an intense and bright sun!
What about taking out your camera and snap memories of your unforgettable trip to Bali a juice in a hand, toes in the sand…

Note that if it gets too hot you can rent a deck chair and sunshade, and get a massage for approximately IDR 50,000 – 100,000 (USD 3.50 – 7)

When the sun goes down, make sure to reach the top of the cliffs. Up there, you’ll be able to benefit from one of the most iconic sunset viewpoints in Uluwatu!

Not bad aye?
